MY EXPECTATION IN THIS SUBJECT

WELL, IN THIS SUBJECT I HOPE TO IMPROVE MY ENGLISH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT METHODOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES TO TEACH ENGLISH. AND I KNOW THAT AFTER THIS SUBJECT I WILL BE SURE IF I HAVE BEEN DOING WELL AS AN ENGLISH TEACHER.

  1. hello claudia! I liked your method because I think is a nice way to get relax during a class. Imagine if we would get classes in that way, I would be very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jeje. I mean, I think is nice because we can get knowledge without frustration. Hey! evry vody let's go to start with this method!!!!!!!!!!

  2. HELLO!!! WELL I THINK I WOULD LIKE TO TRY A CLASS USING THE SUGGESTOPEDIA METHOD. THE IDEA IS REALLY INTERESTING ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE FINE ARTS THAT WE CAN USE AND THE COLORFUL ENVIRONMENT. IMAGINE GUYS!!!

  3. THINKING ABOUT THE AUDIO-LINGUAL METHOD. I AM SURE IT IS A GOOD METHOD ESPECIALLY IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND FOR BEGINNERS TOO. WELL, IT COULD BE GOOD TO DEVELOP THE FOUR SKILLS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
    I THINK, THIS IS THE COMMONLY USED METHOD.

  5. THE WHOLE LANGUAGE APPROACH IS A NICE METHOD TO DEVELOP SKILLS IN READING, BUT IT IS A BIG CHALLENGE TO THE TEACHER BECAUSE IT'S REALLY HARD TO FIND INTERESTING READINGS TO EVERY STUDENT IN THE CLASS.

  6. TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE IS A VERY ACTIVE WAY TO TEACH ENGLISH. I HAVE TRIED THIS METHOD WITH CHILDREN AND IT IS VERY FUNNY AND THEY LEARN THE BASIC VOCABULARY. THE DISADVANTAGE IS WHEN THEY NEED TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES IT IS NOT POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS METHOD. THE STUDENTS JUST DO WHAT THE TEACHER WANTS OR SAYS.

  7. TEACHING ACROSS AGE LEVELS.
    TEACHING CHILDREN IS MY FAVORITE AGE LEVEL TO TEACH.I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK FOR 7 YEARS AS ENGLISH TEACHER IN PRE-KINDER TO SIX GRADE AND IT WAS REALLY NICE BECAUSE CHILDREN LEARN WITHOUT EFFORT. THEY LEARN UNCOUNSCIOUSLY AND RETAIN THE VOCABULARY EASILY BECAUSE AT THIS LEVEL STUDENTS DON'T CARE ABOUT GRAMMAR RULES.
    TEACH THIS LEVEL REQUIRE SPECIFIC SKILLS FROM THE TEACHER BECAUSE OF THE CHILDREN SHORT ATTENTION SPAN. THE ACTIVITIES IN CLASSES HAVE TO CAPTURE THEIR INTEREST AND THE VARIETY OF MATERIAL IS NEEDED.
    THE TEACHER SENSE OF HUMOR IS VERY IMPORTANT AND THE AFFECTIVE FACTORS ARE VERY IMPORTANT,TOO.
    THE EXPERIENCE TO TEACH CHILDREN MAKE ME DEVELOP DIFFERENT SKILLS AND ABILITIES. THE LOVELY PART IS THAT CHILDREN LOVE YOU AS PART OF THEM.

  8. TEACHING BEGINNING LEVELS.
    THIS LEVEL IS A BIG CHALLENGE TO TEACH BECAUSE THE STUDENTS DON'T HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE LANGUAGE, AND THE MOTIVATION AND INTEREST IN LEARNING WILL DEPEND OF THE TEACHER.IN THIS LEVEL THE TEACHER CAN SEE THE GROWTH OF STUDENTS IN A FEW WEEKS.
    THE ROLE OF THE TEACHER: HE/SHE MODELS THE LANGUAGE AND HE/SHE ORGANIZE AND INTERACT WITH THE STUDENTS IN THE CLASS ACTIVITIES.HE/SHE WILL ALWAYS BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION AND THE MODEL TO FOLLOW BY STUDENT.
    AUTHENTICITY OF THE LANGUAGE:
    THE LANGUAGE USED IN THIS LEVEL NEEDS TO BE AUTHENTIC, MANAGEABLE AND NATURAL. WE HAVE TO MODEL A NATURAL NOT AN ARTIFICIAL LANGUAGE AND WE HAVE TO LET THE STUDENT PRACTICE THEIR OWN PHRASES.
    STUDENT CREATIVITY:
    THIS IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF LEARNING A LANGUAGE BECAUSE IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO COMPREHEND AND PRODUCE THE LANGUAGE ACCORDING TO THE SITUATIONS BUT WE HAVE TO KNOW THAT AT THIS LEVEL THE CREATIVITY ES LIMITED BY THE SCARCE OF VOCABULARY. INNOVATION WILL COME LATER.

  9. As you said Claudia, when teaching beginners, the teacher has a big responsibility because students do not know about the language. The teacher has to carry out interesting and meaningful activities for students to become interested in the target language.
